The RabBoar Studio Tai Chi Chuan |
|
Tai
Chi Chuan is an Internal Chinese Martial Art. Its main focus is on
internal development of mind, body
& spirit. It’s training emphasis on slow and relaxed
movement, coupled with free breathing, mental focus and correct body use
make it an excellent tool for self healing and development, as well as an
effective self defense tool. Special focus is placed on repairing all
aspects of the body, clarifying the mind and easing one’s spirit. An
integral part of the study are chi-gung and nei-gung. The study of Tai Chi Chuan
has
been shown to be beneficial in may ways to practitioners.
Recent studies have shown Tai Chi Chuan to increase bone density, lower blood
pressure, increase stability (lower falling incidents in seniors) increase
range of motion in joints and other benefits as well.
I have been actively involved in teaching Tai Chi Chuan for over 21 years in private and in public parks promoting the Wu family small frame, public classes have been offered at studio from it's inception. Classes at the studio follow a long term progression from the Tai-Chi 13 to Northern (Beijing) Wu through Yang medium frame, and, hopefully, to the Wu small frame; These classes offer a more rigorous workout than public classes, and include an in depth study of structural rectification & re-integration as well as other methods of self change, nei-gung and chi-gung. If there will be sufficient interest (4-6 people) I'll start a Tai-Chi 13 form class at the studio, to take place during the 'lunch break' time slot, contact me for details. My special focus in learning & teaching Tai Chi Chuan are the healing aspects of learning and practicing it as seen from both Oriental and Western perspectives. To further my skill I'm following some other disciplines as well my ongoing weekly get together with Terry, and the very infrequent, but superb get-togethers that he hosts. I've had my third Reiki attunement and found that it has improved my chi handling ability. Benefits of Practicing Tai Chi Chuan
