Increase your energy, balance your chakras, increase oxygen intake,
cleanse your organs, improve digestion, and open you heart -- only a few
of the benefits of a regular Kundalini Yoga practice. Our classes
are joyful and relaxed as we practice this Yoga tradition that has been
around for more than 6,000 years. AND (maybe the best benefit of
all) we have a great sound therapy meditation at the end thanks to our gong
player, Siri Daya. Join us Tuesday
evenings (5:30 - 6:45/7:00pm) and Thursday evenings (7:15 - 8:30/8:45pm).
And as
is traditional, Yoga tea is served at the end of
every Kundalini Yoga class.
"Kundalini Yoga
is uncoiling yourself to find your potential and your vitality and to
reach for your virtues. There is nothing from outside. Try to understand
that. All is in you. You are the storehouse of your totality." Yogi
Bhajan
The many benefits of Tai Chi Chuan have been reported in health
magazines as well as TV specials. Our Tai Chi teacher hears every
week how his students have improved their balance, reduced dependency on
pain medications, even lowered their blood pressure so they can reduce
or eliminate medication they have been taking for years -- often
within a only few months of beginning a regular Tai Chi practice.
Join David and his students Mondays and Wednesdays
and enjoy your own health benefits.
For some great basic Hatha Yoga join us on
Thursday (5:30 - 6:45/7:00pm) and learn pose details for beginners, and more advanced details
to keep yourself challenged. We might focus on breath-work (Pranayama),
inversions, upper-body strengthening, deep stretching, gentle Yoga, flow
movements, etc.. And if you are more experienced and are familiar
with Sun Salutations and like a more flowing Yoga, our Monday night
class is for you where the heat is more than just skin deep.
And mix it up with our "Warm, Slow and Relaxing" Hatha Yoga on Saturdays 11:00AM to 12:15/12:30PM.
This is a gentle class and appropriate for all levels of experience. The room will be maintain at a warm 85 degrees to
assist stretching.
To really
strengthen your core (and every other muscle in your body), help prevent
back-pain, and have fun doing it, join us for Pilates Wednesdays 5:45 -
6:45. We start with the ball (or some aerobics) and continue with
intense mat movements, always using the last 15 minutes for some good
stretching.
We have Yoga Tea (1 lb bulk) and some great new CDs of Yoga music
available for purchase. The CDs even include some of the beautiful
chants we practice in the Kundalini Yoga classes. We also have
Yoga DVDs and some books.
As written by Mehtab, co-founder of YogaYoga
in Austin, TX, regarding Yoga Tea:
The spicy brew served to you is the perfect
complement to a yoga practice. The original
recipe comes from my teacher Yogi Bhajan who
insisted we drink it to become better yogis and
healthier individuals.
The cinnamon helps bone strength, the ginger
soothes tired muscles, the cloves build a strong
nervous system, the black pepper purifies the
blood, and the cardamom aids digestion and
elimination.
Yet with recent international developments, we
are reminded that Yogi Tea is not only for yoga
or for yogis. It just might save your life.
